Photography Instructors

William Von Gonten
Graduated from Stonybrook University in 1979 with a B.A. in Fine Arts. Worked in the Graphic Arts Industry for 28 years, 14 of which was with Sports Illustrated Magazine. Started taking photos on a good old Nikomat FT2 camera with a simple 50mm 3.5 Nikkor lens in 1984. Bought an enlarger at a thrift store, joined the local camera club and the rest is history. Been in number of juried competitions and a one man show in Huntington library. Currently resides in Huntington Village and works as a maternity photographer at Huntington Hospital.

Beginners Photography Class - Heckscher Park, Huntington, NY - 10.00am - 3 hrs
Learn the basics of Photography. Students will learn about Aperture, Shutter speed and ISO and how they all interact to produce beautiful images. We will also discuss composition and what constitutes a "good" picture. Also a bit of Photographic history will be thrown in just for fun! Bring your DSLR or Mirrorless and of course a smile!
